Mission & Values

We offer Programs that promote self-reliance and healthy lifestyles through education, mentoring and advocacy.

We were founded in 2005, by Daryl Dockery, a life-long resident of North Carolina, who grew up to love the country and the people around him. Mr. Dockery started in his career as a Juvenile Detention Center Counselor; through time and progression evolved his focus and activities Developing the organization and finally implementing his programs in the Fall of 2007.  Since then, his activities have grown, prospered and expanded. 

Mr. Dockery has established an extensive and proven track record of program success in the field of After-School Design, Delivery and Implementation. Mr. Dockery is a strong youth advocate and community leader who has spent 25+ years helping and supporting community initiatives.  Bridging the educational and social gaps that exist in disadvantaged communities.  He has worked closely with higher learning institutions, governmental agencies, school systems, faith based organizations, private sector groups and others; to improve the overall quality of lives of at-risk children.

As a result of his strong leadership and compassion, Mr. Dockery has developed a variety of educational developmental venture and outcomes measurements that have earned national recognition for their impact on the community and the lives of at-risk children.

Our Board

The members of our board of directors are concerned citizen and thought leaders who have made a significant contribution to our community society. Each and every one of them brings a unique set of skills and expertise to our organization. The board of Directors of Wilmington Residential Adolescent Achievement Place (WRAAP) including officers and members, do not receive any form of compensation, incentive or financial gain for their role or involvement with the organization.
